New York is so many things. It's great energy, good food and, of course, fashion! For the 2nd year, Essence Magazine has hosted the most amazing and fashion filled street style block party brimming to edges with some of NY's classic elements: fun, music and street style.

This year, I partnered with Chevy Cruze and Hello Beautiful to do some live action street styling. We pulled people out of the crowd and did a little switch up change up.

Meet your Chevy Chic and Hello Beautiful Street Style Team: Allison McGeneva, Sunita and Me!

Here's a little behind the scenes action of Sunita and I reviewing our on camera segment. We were just checking to see if we looked crazy!

My first victim...I mean client let me switch out her hoops for some very on trend ear crawlers from Baublebar.

Most of the laytees were already super fabulous because it was after all a street style block party but I just added a little something extra to elevate the look. With Nubia, I added this gold plated belt to do a little waist cinching. You all know how I feel about a cinched waist!

This young laytee allowed me to swap out her MCM handbag for this printed clutch by Madewell. Since, I'm a mixed print fool, I saw her pants and instantly knew the clutch would work well with her look.

With Kela Walker of Kela's Kloset, she was already kute, right? I just gave her a little ear jewelry to step it up a notch. We only did one ear cuff because I like a little asymmetry and imbalance when it comes to ear candy.

The swaps consisted mainly of accessories like this olive fedora that I used to style LaToya. I love the way the different shades of green in her pants and the hat paired well with each other.

I was a huge fan of our necklace selection. Tasha was already killing it. She's a model, duh! I swapped out her necklace for a double statement necklace situation.

Sending a huge shout out and virtual hug to our Chevy Cruze #ChevyChic Team. They were super supportive and fun. Mostly, importantly, they're from Detroit.

This experience was one for the books. I've never had so much fun working in my life! The energy in the crowd was amazing and no one wanted to beat me down for suggesting a style swap. This wasn't about having style, it was taking an already stylish look and adding an elevator #ChevyChic #Cruze #OOTD #EssenceStreetStyleBlockParty #Ad
