Can we take a moment to get into this massive 'Bey' hat from Eric Javits? Like, it's a real life moment.

So, it's officially still Summer but fashionistas across the nation are switching out their Summer frocks for Fall pieces. I, on the other hand, am not quite so eager to say goodbye.

I'm doing Summer until Summer is done, baby! The weather is actually perfection and I want to take full advantage of it.

So, I kept it Summertime fine during the last day of NYFW with this simple structured look. Here are a few tips that I used to build interest in this look.

Tiff Tip #1: K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Sugah)

I'm literally wearing a top and a skirt. Nothing more. On top of that, I'm wearing a total of five pieces in this entire look. FIVE.

Your looks don't have to have a million pieces to it in order to build interest. You are well within your right to keep it simple.

Tiff Tip #2: Play With Shapes

This simple look is, however, all about the shapes! The massive shape of the hat paired with the rounded shoulders of the top mixed with the pleats and flaps of the skirt makes this look a feast for the eyes.

When you're shopping keep the structure of basic pieces in mind. A simple white top can go from basic and boring to bomb with a few changes to the shape. For instance, this top that I'm wearing from ASOS has a re-constructed shoulder and an interesting tie detail.

Tiff Tip #3: It's All In The Details

Speaking of tie details, the rope tie in the top and the tie for the sandals played well together. Something as simple as matching the rope details brings the look together.

Tiff Tip #4: Color Is Key

The color palate for this look was even simple. I just focused on three colors: white, tan and blue. This look felt light and clean, yet interesting.

You all know that I love a good color mash up and lots of layers but often times I like to build interest in other ways by focusing on texture and shape.

When the temperatures are high but you want to look interesting, keep it simple and play with structured shapes!
