Memo 065: All Summer Long

To: All
From: Me
Date: June 4, 2013
Subject: Turbantastic!
_____________________________________________________________________________________

So, remember how I said that I was wearing turbans all summer?

Well, that's definitely happening.

I'm in the midst of some very serious hair confusion. It is currently 1/6 natural (like 2 or so inches beyond new growth). Some days I want to color it, cut it off, braid it up, grow it out or add a little extra. All I do know is that I'm ready for a change. Coupled with the fact that it needs to be able to handle a 4 - 5 day workout schedule, I'm not exactly sure which change to make at this moment.

So, until then, I'll put a turban on it!

  1. Such a cute outfit!! Love your turban. I like the way it can be used a protective style for the spring and summer months. In addition to swooning over your outfit I saw that you said it hard to manage your hair since you work out 4 to 5 times a week. I have found that by using the CHI Keratin Mist it keeps my hair healthy and not as oily after doing several workouts in that week. If you are looking for a new product I would highly suggest it :)

  2. JUST bought the charlotte olympias YASSSSSSSSS GAWD!!! I have been eyeing these for like ever... they are actually cheaper on Neiman Marcus $586. How do they fit, I went up size but i am scared they will be too big being sling backs.

    1. I always go up a size in European sizes. So, you should be fine. Neiman does have them cheaper but they only have a 40 left! Bergdorf has more sizes available. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

    1. Dania, that's the beautiful thing about this turban. I didn't have to tie it! It comes tied and all you have to do is put it on.

Check out The MCB Shop at http://themcbshop.com. They're offering 13% off for the first 10 readers that make a purchase before Friday, June 7th. Discount code is WERKPLACE.

  4. Hi,

I just wanted to say you have a beautiful outfit. And about the hair, my mom transitioned without a big chop too. I actually kind of forced her. But she really liked her hair only when it got fuller towards the time she had to get a new relaxer put in. She liked the fullness of her hair. Only she'd get a relaxer and take all that out?
Anyway, all she did ( I do not know her hair classification, but it is very thick), a LOT of hair), was got to the barbers to get a colour treatment and her hair would be very soft once again. She also braided, and still does, braid her hair every evening. Maybe you can join http://naturalsunshine.ning.com? It's a community where we support one another with natural hair. It's also very informative and you might be able to give someone else advice!

I hope this helped a bit, good luck transistioning, but you can do it!

  7. You've got lovely cheekbones, so I think a short hair cut may work :) Love the outfit.
