Memo 161: Sky High, Thigh Highs

To: All
From: Me
Date: November 18, 2014
Subject: Over-The-Knee Boots
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Looks like it's about that time for me to pull out my trusty Sam Edelman over-the-knee boots.

I am a huge fan of the over-the-knee situation. If done right, they give just the right amount of sexiness. Often times, showing a little peak of something is even sexier than showing a whole lot of everything.

However, it all depends on where you're going and what you're going to do when you get there. This look is good for cooler weather and just about any situation; shopping, dinner, drinks….dessert ;)

And the backpack is good for conveniently carrying everything that you think you'll ever need to be successful in life; shoes, books, water bottles, make-up, and even overnight clothes. Everything.

Memo 118: Feeling a Little Grey

To: All
From: Me
Date: February 12, 2014
Subject: Lincoln Center Activities

The day that I wore this outfit will always be remembered as the day that I met THEE June Ambrose. It was definitely a moment for me.

So, if you didn't know, I want to let you know that it's cold in New York; like, disrespectfully cold. You can look out the window and see the sun but that's really just a mirage. The sun is doing NOTHING for these sub-polar, frigid, ice cold temperatures.

For this look, I chose to stick to a grey color palette. I went from the lightest of light greys picked up in the faux fur vest to the darkest of dark greys in the over-the-knee boots.

I was warm. I was grey. And I was happy.

Memo 108: The Mountain Top

To: All
From: Me
Date: December 23, 2013
Subject: Neutral Texture Clash
_____________________________________________________________________________________

So…Christmas is in two days. Are you ready?

Yeah, me either.

This past weekend, the girls and I went on a 24-hour trip to Sedona. To say that we had a bawl; that it was beautiful, amazing, breathtaking, and wonderful would be an understatement. During the holidays (and mostly any other time of the year), I like to celebrate my relationships. The memories created with friends and family last more than any gift in my opinion.

On to the look...

Lately, I've been feeling very neutral. For this look, I went on a texture frenzy. A little leather here, some faux fur there, topped off with a quilted cherry on top. It was perfect for the cooler Sedona temperatures!

Memo 090: Ms. Boombastic!

To: All
From: Me
Date: October 9, 2013
Subject: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target Boom Sweatshirt - Look 2
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Say me fantastic touch me on the back. He says I'm Ms. Ro...

You know the rest!

Confession: I had to look up the lyrics. I understood not ONE word of what Shaggy was saying in Mr. Boombastic!

Moving on, I, clearly, love black and white paired with this sweatshirt. It's just so visually pleasing and it doesn't compete with the graphics on the sweatshirt.

Ms. Roooooo....mantic!

Memo 087: Allow Me To Re-Introduce My Top Knot!

To: All
From: Me
Date: October 1, 2013
Subject: Hello October!
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Ya'll know I couldn't let go of the top knot. So, I reinvented it for my short hair.
This is the first time I've worn my hair like this but if definitely won't be the last. I love having different hair options.

I've been continuing to shop my closet (*pats self on back*). The only new piece that I'm wearing in this look is the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target dress. Next to the "Boom" sweatshirt, it was one of my favorite pieces from the collaboration. You'll definitely see this dress a couple of times in the future.

Memo 041: Two for One Special

To: All
From: Me
Date: February 20, 2013
Subject: Styling Block, Layered Dresses and Adventures in Arizona...
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Since I've started this blog WAAAAYYY back in October 2012, I've learned so much not only about myself but I've been rediscovering Phoenix, as well. To find these visually interesting backgrounds, I've had to step outside of the neighborhoods that have been familiar to me to discover something new. Message! What an awesome little journey! I can't wait to see what other little gems I uncover.

So, I have to be honest some outfits come together a little easier than others. I could compare this to writer's block. I guess I'll call it styling block. Sometimes, I'll just sit in my closet. Literally, I'll be sitting indian style on the floor of my closet just staring into the abyss. Then, I'll pick up the one item to start the catalyst. So, this day I started with the boots and the coat. I knew I wanted to wear them and I wanted to wear them together. And the rest is dress on dress history...

Memo 014: Standing at the Bus Stop Sucking on a Lollipop...

To: All
From: Me
Date: November 30, 2012
Subject: You Need Gloves
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Nope, no lollipop. I know, I know. It's pretty disappointing. I just had to make the LL reference since I was in fact at a bus stop.

Moving on...

Let's talk about gloves. Wanna know why gloves are so awesome? Why they can be everything to an ensemble? Why YOU should own a pair?

Chipped nail polish.

Yes ma'am! I said it. It needed to be said. These winter months make it hard on a manicure. "I mean she's fly but did you see her nails?!" Who wants to be this girl?! Not me.

Glove that shameful nail and head straight to your favorite nail salon.
