Memo 165: Bandeau in the Fall

To: All
From: Me
Date: December 15, 2014
Subject: Bandeau Top + Sequins + Faux Fur
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Well, I've been up all night. How about you?

D'Angelo took a page right out of the Secret Marketing Tools for Keeping People up at Ungodly Hours of the Night Downloading and Listening to an Album written and mastered by Beyonce and released Black Messiah at midnight last night. It's definitely a "press play" like most of his albums are for me.

D'Angelo, I've missed you. Thank you for last night. It was mad real.

On to the look…

Yes, you sure can wear a bandeau top in the fall/winter. Of course, the weather is really mild (read: It's in the 70s) in Arizona. I'm bragging a little but if you're in cities where you're maneuvering through the polar vortex, just layer up and big reveal when you arrive or wait until it warms up.

Yeah, wait until it warms up or move.

Memo 145: Tunic(les) for your Thoughts

To: All
From: Me
Date: August 1, 2014
Subject: Fashion and Father Time
_____________________________________________________________________________________

I won't even address the fact that it is August 1st of 2014. Nope, I won't even mention it. Like, I won't even acknowledge the fact that time waits for no one. Time gives not one care about any of us. The more that I think about it, time is really kind of disrespectful and selfish. Because of that, we should be diligently trying to stay present and thankful for each moment. Most importantly, we should be relentless about living a life that will truly make us happy and getting there now!

Stepping down from my soapbox and on to the look...

This look is about comfort and prints. When it's 115 degrees Fahrenheit outside (yes, it gets that hot in Arizona), no one over here at The Werk! Place is trying to wear anything that doesn't breathe. I want freedom to move and pathways for air to circulate. That's exactly what this look provides.

Easy, breezy, beautiful, Tunic Girl.

Memo 143: The Bronze & Army Green Brigade

To: All
From: Me
Date: July 23, 2014
Subject: Studs + Sequins
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Who doesn't love a little sequin and stud thrown into the mix? I mean really. For a night out on the town with your main squeeze or with the girls, add a little sparkle to your life with a mix of studded sequin texture. This look has just the right mix where it's not an over powering gaudy mess but more of an army green and bronze sexy hot freshness.  For date night and a night out with the girls, sexy hot freshness always wins!

Memo 052: Double Up

To: All
From: Me
Date: April 3, 2013
Subject: Two Coats and Two Other Things...
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Two things...

Number one, I lost my mind in H&M, recently. Hence, the reason why almost every article of clothing that I am wearing is from H&M.

Number two, I love this hairstyle! Apparently, I like hair on top of my head.

When I saw this coat and jacket, I immediately loved the patterns together. And yes, I used the jacket as my shirt. That actually happened.

There are some pieces that hang quietly in my closet for months sometimes years before they reveal themselves. That was the story for this ASOS bra top. I knew when I saw it that I had to have it but when I got it I didn't know what to do with it. Have you ever been there?

Well, she revealed herself on this day paired with my Boxing Kitten skirt and it just werked!

Memo 012: I Fedora Michael

To: All
From: Me
Date: November 26, 2012
Subject: Remembering Michael Jackson
_____________________________________________________________________________________

You cannot tell me that I am not Michael Jackson in this fedora hat.

I'm talking about 1979 - 1989, Michael. "Rock with You", "Bad", "P.Y.T", Michael. My first boyfriend, Michael. Moonwalking, anti-gravity leaning, finger snapping, hee-heing, white glove wearing, Michael.

All it takes is one thing, one thought, or one song to take you back to a memory of yesterday.

Excuse me while I moonwalk across my living room.

"Yooouu knooow I'm bad..."

Did I ever mention that I LOVE mixed prints? Well, I do...

I didn't recognize the theme initially but the majority of the pieces that I am wearing have...you guessed it...circles.

AND my pinky ring makes me feel like a old school playa from the Himalayahs! Loves it!

Memo 004: To Stalk or Not to Stalk?

To: All
From: Me
Date: November 2, 2012
Subject: The Stalk is Real
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Yeah, so, I had to literally stalk these Zara Jacquard Capri pants. As soon as they went up online (yes, I have to shop online because there is not one Zara where I live. FAIL), they were sold out in my size. So, I head over to eBay where they are tragically marked up.

The horror of not being able to own these pants consumes me but I stand firm that I am not going to pay the higher price. I am convinced and sure that Zara will release some additional sizes. This is where the early morning, midday, and evening online stalking begins...

As you can see, victory was mine. Look at my eyes...got 'em!
