Memo 166: Party On, Party People

To: All
From: Me
Date: December 29, 2014
Subject: Tag Team
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Happy almost New Year's Eve!

It's about that time to get ready to pop a little bubbly and sparkle into the New Year.  I've partnered with my blogger boo, Ambrosia Marlbrough of the lifestyle blog, xoxo-Brosia, to give you a little NYE inspiration.

Of course, there were sequins, faux fur and baroque involved with some gold and silver metallics thrown into the mix. Ambrosia styled her entire look around her Calypso St. Barth silver sequin dress and I went into gold jacquard, baroque, and faux fur overdrive. NYE is definitely the time to go a little over the top.

Let's go into 2015 with a BANG!

Memo 121: Ariel Battle

To: All
From: Me
Date: March 6, 2014
Subject: The Little Mermaid Skirt
_____________________________________________________________________________________

You may as well call me Ariel when I wear this skirt. Doesn't it remind you of The Little Mermaid? Side Note: The Little Mermaid happens to be my favorite Disney Movie. There's a quiz later.

This skirt first appeared over at ASOS in a very lovely pink last season and quickly sold out. So, when I saw this yellow version, there was no hesitation about getting it. I saw it, I had to have it, I bought it. Simple.

Sometimes, a girl just knows.

Memo 114: Home Away from Home

To: All
From: Me
Date: January 16, 2014
Subject: London Flat
_____________________________________________________________________________________

We lived in the cutest little flat located about 45 minutes outside of Central London. I say lived because I feel like if you've been anywhere for longer than a week, you live there!

Can we please have a moment of appreciation for the wallpaper and exposed brick? So cute. If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I went a little crazy in the wallpaper section at B&Q which is London's version of Home Depot. The local stores here got rid of their wallpaper section back in the early 90s like wallpaper isn't still fly.

They were wrong.

Gold all in my cape

This Hugo Boss short cape has been hanging patiently in my closet for YEARS waiting for the chance to make an appearance. Well, doll, here's your chance! You know how you love a piece when you see it and it must come home with you but you haven't been able to find the right moment to debut it? Yeah, me either.

AND I absolutely love the whimsy that the t-shirt from Global Couture provides to this look. I'm pretty sure I'm in love with the red lips the most.

Also, I just joined Bloglovin' this morning. So, if you haven't already, Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Memo 079: Sandro Express Silk Crepe Blouse

To: All
From: Me
Date: August 21, 2013
Subject: I Wear This Blouse!
_____________________________________________________________________________________

I have never been nor will I ever be a believer in the "wear it once" lifestyle. When I buy something, especially something a little pricey, I want to wear the wear out of it!

I want to wear it until the seams fall apart, take it to my seamstress, and wear it all over again!

Check out the four different ways that I styled this Sandro Express Silk Crepe Blouse:

Which one did you like the best?

Memo 078: Goal Digger

To: All
From: Me
Date: August 15, 2013
Subject: Ugly Cuteness
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Now, I ain't saying she's a gold digger 'cause she turned into a goal digger! Get down, girl, go 'head, get down...

I rap on the side.

According to the Urban Dictionary, a goal digger is a person who desires wealth in all areas of life, who seeks the secrets of the millionaire mind and has the smarts, optimism, integrity, and passion to do it themselves.

Hmph. Well, don't mind if I do!

When I saw this Sandro Paisley blouse, I was definitely positive that it was ugly. Like, an ugly kind of cute or a gaudy kind of fabulous.  You know what I mean? To take it even further to the next level, I paired the blouse with these gold H&M shorts that are a 70's kind of 2013. Right? Right...

Memo 077: Dream Chaser

To: All
From: Me
Date: August 13, 2013
Subject: Black, White and Gold
_____________________________________________________________________________________

So, I just started re-reading "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho. Good thing I started by myself because I was in my room HOLLERING at the truth that the first 23 pages were speaking over my life! Seriously, if you've never read "The Alchemist" first slap yourself then get your life and get the book! It is life changing...

My favorite quote so far is "People are capable, at any time in their lives, of doing what they dream of".  At any moment, you can go after your dreams. You're not too old. It's not too late. You haven't missed your chance. Ya'll...

I will go to church on this here blog post! Amen? Amen.

Moving on, I've featured a little black, white and gold in this outfit. Black and white on it's on has such a strong presence. Adding gold is just icing on the cake. And yes, I do believe that you can rock a little leather (faux or real) in the summer time and still keep it cool.

Memo 066: Peek-A-Boo, I See You!

To: All
From: Me
Date: June 6, 2013
Subject: A Lace Bra and Gold Accents
_____________________________________________________________________________________

When the Peter Pan collars first made their way into the fashion scene a season or two ago, I was not all that thrilled about them. I mean I wore Peter Pan collared shirts with my catholic school uniform. Trust me, it was completely unsexy.

But I am 100% in love with the gold Peter Pan collared necklace worn in this look. Paired with the gold accents in the blazer, clutch and shoes; it brings the entire look together.

It dawned on me that I'm practically fully covered. Well, except for my peek-a-boo lace top paired with a navy blue lace bra. This is a great way to add a little sexy without looking overexposed.

Memo 022: Tonight is the Night!

To: All
From: Me
Date: December 24, 2012
Subject: Merry Christmas Eve!
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Christmas Eve used to be my favorite day right there next to my birthday. It was the excitement of it all. You couldn't tell me that right around 9PM every Christmas Eve I didn't hear the faint sound of Santa's sleigh bells. I not only went but I FLEW into that bed for fear that he would skip over our house because I was still awake!

Oh, to be young and to believe again...

Here's my final ode to the Christmas holiday season and what better way than to pay homage in green! It is after all the "it" color of the season.

Remember the reason for the season (I love cliches...*insert sarcastic tone here*), be a gift to someone else and remember to tap into that younger you that used to believe.

Merry Christmas to you all and to all a good night!

Memo 018: Settling

To: All
From: Me
Date: December 12, 2012
Subject: Searching for Butterflies
_____________________________________________________________________________________
Happy 12.12.12!! I have no idea what this means but the people seem to think it's special.

So, I was watching an episode of Sex and the City a couple of nights ago (yes I will watch every SATC rerun alive...do not judge me!). It was an episode where the girls attend a wedding to witness Carrie's supposedly gay male friend marry a woman. It talks about him maybe not finding the right guy and settling for a woman instead...and so on and so forth.

Anyway, she ends the episode with this quote: "Some people are settling down. Some people are settling. And some people refuse to settle for anything less than butterflies."

Of course this applies to relationships but today I'm using it in reference to clothes. A piece should speak to you. It should yell for you to buy it. You should get down right indignant and disrespectful. You might even start talking to yourself and needing to know names.
"Who made this ol' disrespectful, fabulous, stupid, brilliant, funky blouse?! Who authorized the production of this?! Who is in charge here?! WHO?!"
If not, literally, don't buy it. Anything less is uncivilized!

Subject: Grateful
_____________________________________________________________________________________

First and foremost, number one and most importantly (yes all of them), I want to thank YOU.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to express myself through my clothes. This is my art and soul. One of my favorite fashion quotes says "Your body is like a work of art, dress to be on display." I live for this!

Thank you for not only supporting this blog but coming back and spreading the word. It feels amazing when someone not only appreciates what you do but shares it with their friends and family. Thank you for sharing.

Be blessed and always stay grateful.

Memo 007: Top to the Knot

To: All
From: Me
Date: November 12, 2012
Subject: The Top Knot
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Let me explain something to you, I wear top knots. No, you don't understand, I WEAR top knots.

The top knot is good for any occasion and it's ready at a moment's notice.

Just went swimming, your girl calls and she just landed two tickets for a sold out charity dinner. Top knot.
Haven't had your hair styled since your birthday and your number one boo wants to go on a date. Top knot.
You partied way too hard at the club last night and it's time to go to church. TOP. KNOT.

Whoever thought to bring the top knot into fashion, kudos to you!
