Memo 173: It's a Date!

To: All
From: Me
Date: February 19, 2015
Subject: Floral and Lace
__________________________________________________________________________________

These past couple of weeks, I've been having date night and what to wear on said date nights on my mind. I mean, I always feel like I never have anything to wear.  I often find myself sitting on the floor of my closet staring into space. Therefore, I need to plan ahead a little.  I'm trying to practice staying ready so that I don't have to get ready! The new Minute (Wo)Men.

When I put this floral and lace look together, I know that it would be perfect for brunch (with unlimited Mimosas, of course), the museum, or drinks at a lounge on a Sunday night.

Oh and let's not forget to take notice of the open toe fur booties. Yes to the ma'am!

Memo 172: Gold Pants Will Make Her Dance

To: All
From: Me
Date: February 17, 2015
Subject: Date Night Fever
__________________________________________________________________________________

Do you have a upcoming casual date night? No worries, bring out those gold sequin pants and your favorite abstract art printed grey sweatshirt and get to it!

Oh, yeah, Happy belated Valentine's Day to you all! I hope it was everything that it should have been for you and more.  All last week, I was trying to come up with some not-so-typical date night ideas.

Here's what I came up with:

TWP Approved Date Night list
  • Take a visit to your favorite local art museum and finish the date with brunch and unlimited mimosas
  • Get active with an indoor rock climbing gym experience followed by a scenic lunch
  • Get lifted in a hot air balloon and take in the views below
  • Take a visit to your local bookstore and share life experiences over coffee
  • Cuddle up under the stars while watching an outdoor movie with an impromptu picnic
  • Relax your mind and let your conscience be free with joint spa appointments
  • Get in the giving spirit with a shared volunteer activity

What say you? Do you have any not-so-typical date night ideas to add to the list? I would love to hear if you did anything particularly interesting for Valentine's Day #SpreadLoveItsTheBrooklynWay

Memo 170: Ice Cream Sprinkled Stripes

To: All
From: Me
Date: February 10, 2015
Subject: Stripes on Stripes on Stripes
_____________________________________________________________________________________

I know, I know! It's been a minute, right? Don't hate me, k? Sometimes life shows up.

So, about these stripes. Yup, loving them. When I spotted this massive pinstripe scarf over at ASOS, I knew I had the perfect outfit to bring it to life. I mean the scarf giveth life on its own but I sent it into stripe overload and it's one for the books!

The look is super stylish and works for most occasions especially stopping for ice cream!

Memo 101: Truck Stop

To: All
From: Me
Date: November 13, 2013
Subject: One Dress, Three Ways: Look 2
_____________________________________________________________________________________

For look 2, I'm wearing the ASOS shirt dress as a (drum roll, please) dress! I bet you didn't see that one coming.

I like to keep it fresh here at The Werk! Place. You know, keep you on your toes…

Memo 094: Quilted Softness

To: All
From: Me
Date: October 22, 2013
Subject: Constrained
_____________________________________________________________________________________

I don't know if I'm the only one but every time I get dressed, I want to create a new look. Now, I'm not here for the wear it once lifestyle but I do want to take familiar pieces and create something new.

Under time constraints, this can sometimes cause delays in the schedule. When I'm getting dressed my room looks exactly like someone invited twelve rambunctious children to have their way with my closet.

Anywho, this look came together in one of those time constrained situations. I love the way the textures complimented each other. The leather against the quilted pattern in the top...such a good idea.

Memo 086: Ruffle My Leathers

To: All
From: Me
Date: September 26, 2013
Subject: Leather Pencil Skirt
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Listen, I'm not sure if you received the memo but leather is IT right now!
Ok, it was IT last season, too, but it's even IT-er this season.

Leather skirts/pants, leather shirt pockets, leather shoulders....oh my!

And clearly I loved all of the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target handbags. It's a good bag for the price. I can't even deny it.

Memo 017: With the Cinch of a Waist

To: All
From: Me
Date: December 10, 2012
Subject: The Cinched Waist
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Ok, as you can tell from this blog, I’m pretty ritualistic and consistent with the things that I like to do.  I WEAR top knots, I’m dedicated to spending a large portion of my paycheck with ASOS, Zara and H&M, and I like to make to-do lists and check things off (random fact but now you know). So, here’s one more to add to the list of things that I like to do and do often…

I cinch waists!

If I’m wearing a blazer, I cinch the waist
A dress? Yup, you’ve got it. I cinch the waist.
If I wake up one morning with the urge to wear a brown paper bag…I’M CINCHING THE WAIST!

A cinched waist is the ultimate accessory in achieving femininity in any outfit.
The cinch can be achieved with a belt, rope, scarf, chain…basically anything that will make it’s way around your waist. You’ve got the keys to cinching success.

Now getsta cinching (Martin voice)!
