Memo 044: Black and Red and Read All Over

To: All
From: Me
Date: February 28, 2013
Subject: The Perfect Pairing of Black and Red
_____________________________________________________________________________________

I usually and by usually I kind of mean never wear red and black together. Something about it just feels too harsh. I did see this dress from Zara that was black and red and it wasn't so bad.

However, the red and black (plus all of the other colors) in this dress just werked for me! I saw it and knew that it would be perfect for any occasion; werk, church, brunch, date night, a play, a concert, or wherever

B.T. Dubbs...Eye LOVE brunch! I can eat brunch and be at brunch ALL. DAY. LONG. And honey, PLEASE don't let there be unlimited bloody marys and mimosas. I'll never leave. You may as well start calling me Tiffany "I-shut-brunches-down" Battle.

Memo 043: Not So Mellow Yellow

To: All
From: Me
Date: February 26, 2013
Subject: "Sunglasses Necessary" Trench Coat
_____________________________________________________________________________________

When I wear this coat, I always get plenty of...feedback.

"Oh, you must be the one who took up all the sunshine."
"Hey, there...sunshine."
"I need sunglasses just to look at you."

Ok, so the coat is bright, I get it. I really do but sometimes you need a little bright to make it alright.

It rhymed. Just roll with it...

Memo 042: A Few of My Favorite Things

To: All
From: Me
Date: February 22, 2013
Subject: I Clutched My Nude Shoes...
_____________________________________________________________________________________

In a recent interview, I was asked what are some of the items that I cannot live without. Besides necessary things like air, food, water and shelter, I absolutely don't know where I would be in life without my nude Maudissima Christian Louboutins and navy blue Kenneth Cole Clutch.

I wear them with everything! The toe cleavage on the Louboutins is amazeballs.
The clutch was a classic example of ordinary purchase turned extraordinary. I can't imagine my life without these items.

What fashion items are an absolute necessity in your life?

B. T. Dubbs, this feather collar?! Ma'am. That is all...

Memo 041: Two for One Special

To: All
From: Me
Date: February 20, 2013
Subject: Styling Block, Layered Dresses and Adventures in Arizona...
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Since I've started this blog WAAAAYYY back in October 2012, I've learned so much not only about myself but I've been rediscovering Phoenix, as well. To find these visually interesting backgrounds, I've had to step outside of the neighborhoods that have been familiar to me to discover something new. Message! What an awesome little journey! I can't wait to see what other little gems I uncover.

So, I have to be honest some outfits come together a little easier than others. I could compare this to writer's block. I guess I'll call it styling block. Sometimes, I'll just sit in my closet. Literally, I'll be sitting indian style on the floor of my closet just staring into the abyss. Then, I'll pick up the one item to start the catalyst. So, this day I started with the boots and the coat. I knew I wanted to wear them and I wanted to wear them together. And the rest is dress on dress history...

Memo 039: Every Day is the 14th!

To: All
From: Me
Date: February 14, 2013
Subject: Happy Valentine's Day
_____________________________________________________________________________________

I'm feeling real "I hope that you're the onnnnneeeee..." right now. Andre 3000 speaks to my spirit. I think I always find my way to The Love Below on Valentine's day.

I just knew that this Isabel Toledo dress would be perfect for today. The color gradient sold me the moment that I saw it. Let me further explain my excitement seeing this dress in one of my favorite consignment stores for a whopping $40 US American Dollars! The designer is also noted to be responsible for the FLOTUS's ensemble at the 2009 Inauguration! Well, what can I say? Great minds think alike...

Happy Valentine's Day! Be kind to one another and yourself.

XOXO

Subject: You Make Me Happy When Skies Are Grey!
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Yellow just makes me smile even and especially when it's raining outside. I'm happy when I see it and I'm happy when I'm wearing it! Werk Yellow!

This Fumblin' Foe dress (similar here) is a go to favorite in my closet. I've had it forever! So, with most of my pieces, I try to find new ways to wear them. This day, I paired it with my Zara collar (similar here and here) for the first time and I loved it! Werk Collar!

Memo 037: Eye of the Tiger

To: All
From: Me
Date: February 8, 2013
Subject: They're Grrrrrreeeaat!
_____________________________________________________________________________________

This Melody Ehsani Queen of the Jungle necklace has been seen everywhere. I think it all started with Rihanna... of course. What makes this piece so amazing other than the fact that it screams late 80s was that it was actually (dare I say it) affordable!

Aside from this necklace, another big hit this season was tiger inspired pieces. Here's my take on the trend:

To: All
From: Me
Date: February 6, 2013
Subject: Statement Necklaces (Plural)
_____________________________________________________________________________________

So, I was feeling a little colorful this day and the graffiti artwork on Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix complemented my outfit perfectly!

When it came to finding the perfect statement necklace for this outfit. I just couldn't choose between the Banana Republic Cleopatra necklace (similar here) or the David Aubrey Teardrop Bib necklace (similar here). So, I wore them both!

Subject: The Sorcerer's Edition
_____________________________________________________________________________________

I know I may look a little like something out of a comic book BUT this Maison Martin Margiela for H&M dress is probably one of the most comfortable things that I own!

This dress is excellent for the airport, a trip to the mall, movies, dinner, or let's say for something like standing outside on the National Mall in 40 degrees for the 2013 Inauguration of President Barack Hussein Obama (2 Termz!). It's good for just about anything. I live for versatile (and comfortable) pieces...

Memo 034: Old McDonald had a Farmer's Market

To: All
From: Me
Date: February 1, 2013
Subject: Fresh Produce
_____________________________________________________________________________________

In efforts to continue to live a healthy life, I have been trying to eat more fresh produce. However, as of late, you can pretty much call me Jet Setting Jenny. I've been at the airport like it's my job! The point is by the time that I get back home all of my healthy fresh produce has spoiled. What's a health conscious girl to do?!

Anyway, I fell in love at first sight with this BCBG Faux Fur Vest (similar here and here). It's ombre and it's amazing! There was really nothing left to do with this but wear it. The vest speaks for itself, no other piece had to do any talking...
