Every couple of months, I do a little spring cleaning to welcome a few new friends into my closet. Mostly, I take my gently worn designer rags to my local consignment store and the rest to the Goodwill/Salvation Army.

Now, this dress here, I've had for literally over 10 years. I just can't let it go! Every time I try, it keeps calling me back.

Come on, girl. Let's get you back on the hanger...

Subject: And Wear Floral...

As usual, I'm forever rediscovering Phoenix. While driving around downtown, I spotted the cutest little corner which houses several restaurants. Outside of one of the restaurants, there were signs that caused me to have a little conversation with myself: 

Sign: "eat" 

Me: Yup 

Sign: "drink"

Me: You know it! 

Sign: "laugh"

Me: I do that 

Sign: "enjoy life"

Me: Well, you've got that right!

I try my best to enjoy life. Especially as of late, I really just want to do what makes me happy. It's simple. If not, what is the point?

Wearing florals makes me really happy. I feel light, airy and fresh in florals. In this outfit, I paired florals and neon accessories and they definitely sent my florals into electric shock!

Message for today: Do what makes you happy. Wear what makes you happy.  Most importantly, enjoy life!

It's heating up around here and bare legs are rapidly making an appearance.

These Mink Pink Slasher Shorts made their appearance back in 2010, I want to say. And they were sold out EVERYWHERE! So, once again stalk mode was in full affect. I realize that I am often in stalk mode for clothing. If there was a registry, I would be on it!

Birthday/Mother's Day weekend recap:

• We started with brunch. I love brunch
• Then, we got our nails done. I love getting my nails done.
• I was with my girls. I love my girls.
• Most importantly, I was with my mommy. If you know me, you know that I love my mama!

We ate, we drank and we were definitely merry!

Social Werk! | Dinner Down the Orchard

Imagine for me if you will a white linen family style table stretched down the middle of a peach tree lined orchard. The smell of fresh ham and blue cheese croissants tickle your nose. Your eyes zoom in on several servers coming towards you with trays full of raspberry wine. What is this wonderful place? 

This is "Dinner Down the Orchard" hosted by Schnepf Farms in Queen Creek, AZ. It is literally an experience that you will not find anywhere else in Arizona. Twice a year, the farm invites a renowned chef to come in and prepare a four-course organic quality meal for their guests. 

It's an awesome dinner to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, promotion or a "just because" kind of celebration. We celebrated a couple of birthdays. Happy Birthday, Lattees! 

Now, you may have missed it this year but don't let it happen again. Mark your calendars for 2014!

By golly, I've figured it out!

I'm declaring here and now that, all summer, I'm wearing turbans! It's so perfect. It's my top knot for the summer, ready at a moment's notice!

This turban here is from The MCB Shop. The best thing about it other than that it's super fabulous is that I didn't have to sit in front of my computer for seven hours watching You Tube tutorials to learn how to tie it. I just put it on!

Well, no more. My dear friend, Maya, constantly and consistently reminded me that she would be more than willing to be a guinea pig in my fashion experiment. So, I tried it.

I'll admit, we struggled a little. She was unsure about the Zara dress and the ASOS Regal Dog necklace. "Well, I just need to see it styled" she would repeatidly say. In the end, she trusted my eye and it all came together!

I am literally taken aback at the speed at which these months fly by!

Especially when May sneaks up on me. It's my birthday month and it has become a check in point with myself. The more I question where I am in life, the more that I realize that I am exactly where I am supposed to be.

Instead of beating myself up about what I haven't done since last May, I'll reflect here on what I have done:

• Traveled to Barcelona, Rome, Paris and the Dominican Republic
• Experienced the best and worst (yes both!) 5-month reflection period of my entire life
• Started this awesome blog called The Werk! Place
• Conducted my first media coverage at the MIM Rocks Fashion Show
• Took a wine tour in Napa Valley
• Served as a Bridesmaid in my BFFs wedding
• Witnessed one of my favorite linesisters/friend get married
• Hosted my first baby shower
• Started a new job (same company) with an awesome schedule
• Took ski lessons in Lake Tahoe
• Went to my first Phoenix Sun's Game
• Created my 2nd Vision Board
• Finally, closed the door to some feelings that should have left long ago.
• More importantly, I've grown. 

Happy Birthday month to me and to all you other May babies out there...
